Preferred Suppliers List

Is anyone a preferred supplier for their local hotels/wedding venues? Is it a tough process to get on the list? Has anyone tried to become a Pref. Suppl. and not been successful? Anyone going through it at the moment?

Would be interesting to hear experiences of this.
