I have a bride coming round to see me in a few minutes who contacted me last night as she has fallen out with the florist who was to be providing her flowers for the 5th August.

Both bride and groom grew up in Africa and want this themed through the wedding, including the use of Protea, strelizia, lucadendron and allium. We tend to spercialise in roses and have only done a few weddings using these flowers. If any of you have done some stunning weddings could I pinch some ideas, see some pictures for inspiration. The pieces I am really struggling on are the pew ends and long and low. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't bother suggesting a long and low - it does look nice but I don't think it does the flowers justice. They'd be better off with tall vases with a couple of stems of strelizia in with some grass, would give it more of an impact but watch your pricing as strelizia's cost quite a bit at the moment.

A hand tied of king protea would look wicked with the heads 'caged' in steel or flexi grass for the bridal bouquet. Or you could choose a smaller protea and make a hand tie with protea berries as the filler, that would look cool.

Pew ends would look good with a couple of stems of strelizia and some large leaves like fatsia or folded aspidistra, but again these are going to be expensive.
