Hi All. Sorry if i put this thread in the wrong area. We have just opened our second shop. After three weeks trading I'm quite happy with it. I would like to run this one with no relay service. My problem/Querry is that I would like to run it more independantly but still offer a service by finding my own florists and building up a list on my laptop. The company that we use for relay has pulled a couple of fast ones. It's a long story but in the end We lost a very good customer, we ended up being 50 quid out of pocket on one occassion. I can't wait to see the area rep if she dare turn up.
In theory i think it sounds good but I just wanted to get other peoples thoughts, advice or ideas. I'm really struggling to come up with all the pros and cons. We have a relay service at the other shop and i intend to keep that on for the time being.

have your relay service and remain independent.

We've only been open a year and have been with f2f for this time without any complaint. Order volume is not huge, but they are still pretty much in their infancy.

I believe it's kept up to date.

For international or 'special' orders I'll just google florists in the area.

You could also try www.direct2florist.co.uk they're getting more and more florists sign up and then you can send the order directly to the florist rather than through relay.
