Hello again flower mill. I'm quiet too and absolutely pooing myself! Its scary when theres so much money going out but i think you just have to keep at it. Have you got a chalkboard outside at all? If you've got anyone there can write in a stright line get a board done with something catchy on, like special offers or something, doesn't have to be tacky. Basically its the end of the month, most people are on their hols and the rest are entertaining their kids. Great combo!! Chin up.

Hi Alby, We have been busier the past couple of weeks, think you are right about the kids beeing of school and people going on there holidays though. Hope things are a bit better for you! We have a got a printed a-border outside with things we do so i think that is attracting some attention. Thanks for your advice.

Glad its been better for you. Had a good few weeks here but suddenly very quiet this week! Got a few weddings on this week though so its nice to have the time to get them done without the panic. Onwards and upwards eh!

Hi flower mill think i missed this post last time welcome and yes business was slow when the rains came but its gone really busy in last couple of weeks phone has been ringing none stop and as we now take card we are doing really well

Hi potty, Thanks for the reply. Im really glad too that we have been a little busier, however we are still not as busy as we were before the summer so things could be better! Hopefully when the kids have gone back to school things will pick up! We joined 118 118 as a premier lister and that has bought us a few orders one this morning for a £40 HT which was good! If you have any other ideas that would be great.

Get yourself a google maps listing, Thompson Local do a free listing and Yell.com has worked out well. Not cheap but think its paid for itself. Also get a website sorted asap if poss. Sorry if you've already done all that.

Hi and Welcome flowermill, i am in my third year and locals still come in and say "didn't know you were here" been a bit quiet the last couple of weeks but picking up nicely now. it is very worrying when it goes quiet but don't get down about it. i found leaflet dropping is the best form of advertising, don't spend a fortune on glossy mags or large yellow pages add until you can justify it. it has already been said but a very eye catching window display is very important, i have a light on a timer to go off about 10pm.
