I love batplants but have only seen them from Metz and they cost a small fortune, do they keep? I know full well if I did buy some they would just sit and gather dust for weeks until they died.

I'm selling mine for £53.50 including a pot, sold one yesterday but most people just come in to look at them.

They keep for a good couple of months, if they're cared for - my staff tend to kill every plant that's here though through neglect so I need to keep an eye out.

Hmm, expensive, but worth it perhaps if they catch people's eye and lure them in. We have those massive hanging pitcher plants sometimes and hang them outside as a talking point for people, never sell any, but they do make people stop and look. And it's entertaining for us too, listening to the know-it-alls standing there spouting absolute rubbish about how they attack and devour insects.

FBCs don't know, mine phoned me once when i first took over can't even remember their name...or if it was a man or woman

had a 'sales' type rep come once to...he was a fitty had a whinge to him about some stuff but basically he didn't have a clue about flower just selling interflora products like FOL

I can't sell Hydrangeas or mini roses either. I did get some lace cap hydrangeas or whatever they are called and they went. I tend to pick up the oddest looking stuff. People seem to like the novelty factor. I've done well with capsicums and tomato plants. I also seem to sell lots of the 2.50 stuff but I think thats cos I'm in a walk through bit and people just grab stuff as they pass. Got some bonsais for 4.50 last week, desperate to sell em before i kill em!
