Hi Kerry

If it's for a corporate client I would prob not add too much flowering as you would for a gift arrangement as they tend to need to be long lasting rather than seasonal and low maintenance but also visually interesting. Also they are usually on a larger scale than a planted arrangement for a gift.

You usually find that corporate/contract plants tend to be something the shop/florist would go and water and maintain on a regular basis as part of the contract.

You have to think about where it would be situated i.e light/dark room temperature/climate and prob not much fresh air!

I would use tropicals because they are quite hardy and low maintenance You could use:

palms
cycas
elephant palm
Pachira
Sanserveria
Beaucarnea
Anthurium
Tillandsia
Dracaena
Guzmania
Aloe Vera

Some of the above would add a splash of colour, You may already know the above, if not have a look through any books you have or google the above plants under 'images' instead of 'web' to get an idea of what they are like

Don't know where you are but my advice is if you have a few big office buildings i.e. banks/hotels etc nearby (especially head office type) take a look when you go by and you will get an idea of the type of things that are usually planted in reception areas and similar to get a feel for what you want to do.

A lot of sturdier/bigger plants are going to be a bit costly though!! maybe find a wholesaler in your area that would be happy for you to buy from, when I was at college our tutor was quite helpful at pointing us in the right direction for student friendly wholesalers or buying in via her shop for anything that could be expensive so maybe have a chat with them to get a bit of local knowledge of the best supplier for you.

Hope this helps a bit!

diverse planted design - container

Hi

when you are dealing with corporate clients you need to think about the container you are going to use as well as the plants.

Try to be imaganative with the shape and what it is made of, wooden plastic etc..

Think corporate image what image do they want to or do portray are they modern or traditional
Do they have a colour brand or logo?? that you can work with.

hope this helps a little.

Remember plant compatability in important.

jackie
