Question latin/common flower names
hi
can anyone tell me where i can find a straight forward website for latin/common names for flowers. doing a floristy course ( 3rd lesson) and finding it hard!

What course are you doing? They should supply you with a list of flowers and plants to learn as yuo go. if you've got that maybe google them or something.

If you log on to flower council of holland site you can buy flower booklets which show pics availability and at back names

I got a powerpoint disc with all mine on. You have to learn latin and common names also stem structure and availability, your tutor will give you a list.

That makes my stomach turn just thinking about learning all those! So hard. I did it but i really dont know how and its all gone again now, altough you sometimes get a latin word pop into your head for know particular reason, must be in there amongst the fog somewhere!

I know, I did my test in June, knew them inside out, backwards and frontwards but can hardly remember any now.

Love that too. I love to say all the Latin names when a annoying customer calls and want to know " what do you have in the shop to day" They never know what half of it is. And I really like knowing the names and its easier when we order the flowers
