Red face Funeral Work Or Wedding Work

HAVEN'T POSTED FOR A WHILE, PARTNER HAD VIRUS, MY 6 YR OLD GOT THE VIRUS AND I EVENTUALLY GOT THE VIRUS!!!!

ANYWAY, JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY FOR THE OTHER STUDENTS OUT THERE - WHAT DO YOU PREFER FUNERAL WORK OR WEDDING WORK?

I LIKE THE FUNERAL WORK, BUT AT COLLEGE PRESENTLY DOING C&G LEVEL 2 IN ADDITIONAL HAVE BEEN DOING QUITE A BIT OF WEDDING WORK USING FRESH AND SILK FLOWERS. i HAVE BEEN PRACTISING THE BRIDAL SHOWER BQ'S AT HOME AND ADDING ACCESSORIES ETC.

MY PREVIOUS C&G TUTOR PREFERRED FUNERAL WORK - SO WE DID A LOT OF DOUBLE ENDERS, WREATHS ETC AND I THEN I INTURN, AS CONFIDENCE GREW PREFERRED THIS.

I THINK THAT I AM SLOWLY STARTING TO GET TO GRIPS WITH THE WEDDING STUFF - STILL ALONG WAY TO GO (EASIER WITH SILKS THEN FRESH) - BUT CONFIDENCE SLOWLY GROWING.

SO WHICH ONE DO YOU PREFER AND WHAT ARE YOUR STYLES, MODERN, TRAD, EXOTIC, CONTEMP

LULU

I think I prefer funeral work, the smile on a bereaved persons face when they see your flowers out weighs the smile of brides, not by much, but I definitely get more of a sense of achievement.

Wedding work, no contest. I love using pretty extras and it's not really suitable for sympathy designs

funny isn't it?

FOR PRACTISE AT HOME THIS WEEKEND I MADE A BRIDAL SHOWER BOUQUET WITH SILK FLOWERS, JUST TO HELP ME WITH THE OVERALL BALANCE, POPORTION AND DESIGN OF THE BRIDAL BOUQUETS. AS WITH THE FRESH FLOWERS AND MY HEAVY HANDEDNESS THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTHING LEFT AT THE END - PETALS AND TEARS EVERYWHERE.

I TOOK IT INTO COLLEGE YESTERDAY AND MY TUTOR WAS IMPRESSED, HOWEVER, THE IVY TRAIL COULD HAVE BEEN AN INCH OR 2 LONGER (BLOODY ONE THIRDS TO TWO THIRDS!!!!).

YESTERDAY WE CREATED A TEXTURED FUNERAL CROSS USING CORNUS WOOD (DOG WOOD RED) AND 9 CALLA'S, WITH IVY, AND DECORATIVES. I USED A LOT OF GOLD AND RED ALUMINIUM WIRES AND IVY FLOWERS. QUITE RUSTIC WITH A MODERN TWIST.

THIS I ENJOYED - NO PROB'S - WEDDING WORK-BREAK OUT IN A SWEAT!!!!

MY TUTOR GAVE ME FRSH FLOWERS AND FOLIAGE TO PRACTICE FRESH BRIDAL BOUQUET - READY FOR MY EXAM AFTER CHRISTMAS - WILL TRY AND PRACTISE TONIGHT - CAN'T WAIT.

STILL LOVE FUNERAL WORK AND VERY IMPRESSED WITH TREEN'S WORK - VERY INSPIRATIONAL.

I JUST THINK THAT I AM TOO HEAVY HANDED FOR WEDDING WORK - THANKS FOR ALL YOUR THOUGHTS AND REPLIES!

LULU

funeral work definately, it's sooooooo relaxing and not just the basing/massing, we have done a few of our own designs I made a Pirate sloop - wire frame and filled with moss, a treasure chest from half a jumbo block, and me and the hubbies zodiac signs - picses and aquarius, loved designing them and loved making them even more - just hated the evaluations after
