essential: trustworthy, experience working with others and qualifications or shop trained for a number of years (at least 5 Id say)
desirable: good personal hygene, confidence is good as long as its not over confident thats very off putting, someone who hasnt had too many jobs cause they are likely to leave you at a drop of a hat (faithful is the word Im looking for I think), flexible (overtime and all that), good spelling and numeracy skills, able to work well under pressure, someone who can up the speed when you need it and I suppose someone with an artistic flair would also be desireable although people who say that are usually a bit slow I find...............oh and you would definately need to speak at least 5 languages and have a degree in psychology.....hehehe, only joking, thats what I think anyway, is that what u are looking for? ![]() Last edited by Appleblossoms; 02-03-2008 at 10:59 PM. oh and someone who can drive would also be desirable, getting to venues etc, even though I cant drive....thats another long story (some people were just not meant to drive
) anyway Ive probably missed piles of other desirables and probably a few essentials as well.....been a long long day![]() |

to Apple's essentials/desirables....except I'd put the desirables on the essentials list! A sense of responsibilty is also very important for me for a senior florist. My full-timer, although still quite young has an aura of responsibilty that eminates from her to the customers and makes them feel they are in good hands. She is in a sense the boss when I'm not there so I have to be able to trust her to handle any probs with customers and staff. as far as languages go...I got the 5...now I just need a psychology degree...all i have is a certificate to verify my psychotic behaviour! ![]()

hi mapletree
hope this is not too cheeky but am considering recruiting for a part time florist for 16 hours, need them to have a bit about them and as you say be the boss when i am not around, be able to do a wedding in my absence and take on responsibility. How much do you reckon i should offer per hour. i am in the cheshire area |
