UK / European Legislation - 24-03-2008, 06:35 PM

Need more help please?
My assignment is identify the main UK or European Legislation relating to one sector of the floristry industry, and explain objectives of an important piece of current UK or European Legislation for the floristry industry, and the implications of one current piece of UK / European Legislation.
Where to find this imformation would be helpful i.e website.
Thank again Gill.

Could it relate to production (i.e. pollutants, social conditions etc.) or something like CITES (protected Environment/ species etc) try the CBI website they usually have some useful information

I don't know if this will help you, but all UK legislation is available from OPSI. I have spent a couple of years interpreting this stuff, but others I know get lost in the language.

Could you look at it from different business divisions. There is a lot of employment law that is relevant to floristry. Sex Discrimination Act for example from an HR point-of-view. Working time directive, that is particularly relevant at peak times of the year for florists. Sale and Supply of Goods act, for example, sale by sample. That would be relevant with bridal orders etc. COSHH is relevant to from a health and safety point-of-view.

Wow! I can think of loads, but if you want info on something specific, just ask, happy to help if I can!
