wedding courses

Hi
I am nearing the end of the C&G level 2 course and am wondering what to do next. I don't think I can commit to the level 3 course next year as chilcare is going to be a problem but I would really like to do a short wedding flower course maybe over the summer, as I don't feel like we have done enough on this at college. Can anyone recomend anything good? I am based in HAmpshire but wouldn't mind travelling up to London if necessary.

i too am on that course and i know what you mean by not feeling you have done enough. i work volentary 1 day a week in a florists to get hands on experience i dont know if this could be an option for you ,or you could enquire at your college about day courses my college runs them .they cost £42.00 its a bit far for you i know some of the girls at college are doing day courses next year due to other commitments too .sounds like a good solution to me.

At the end of my level 1 course last year I did a 5-week non certificated weddings course 1 evening a week. It wasn't great, not sure how much I learnt - 1st lesson was a corsage which all of us on the course had already done on other courses, so a waste of a week in my opinion. So I would say unless there's a much longer course, I'd try and get work experience. Short courses can only really give a taster.

Thumbs up

Hi, have you tried looking for any 1 day workshops they are supposed to be quite good, but I have never been to one and also keep checking things like the country baskets website as when they have a demo on its free and you can photograph everything as well and the good thing is they are usually held on a Sunday. Good luck with it

Thanks for the ideas. The colleges round here do do some short courses but they are at a lower level then C&G so don't think they would be worth doing (I did a copule before I did this course to get me started).
I guess I was thinking more of the ones you see advertised in the London florists etc. they seem expensive, but maybe a chance to learn something new? What we have done on the level 2 course is fairly traditional so some more modern stuff would be good.
