im on c+g level 2 design and craft and dont get to do anything like that mine is only a saturday course though do you think thats why?

how about hydrangeas(LOVE EM!)-whatever colour-with long ivy wrapped around the 'head' and bear grass criss-crossed over top like a cage, aluminium wire with pearls rowed onto it around that, sisal (or my favourite at mo-tillandsia!) wrapped around stems and some organza ribbons hanging down from the stems with the same pearls tied to the ends for wieght....for the basket you could do pretty much the same thing.(only in a basket!) and instead of the normal basket handle, make a handle out of the aluminum wire...just a thought!

Mine's only a Saturday course too Joe. Think its the same course as I'm doing design/craft too.

The tutor set this on last day of term - previously she would demo for us to make the following week but has given us a free rein on this one.

Have you covered wedding stuff yet? Ours was mainly funeral stuff last term.

I'm now leaning towards hydrangeas! Will go to the wholesaler, see whats on offer and have a little practice before I go back in a couple of weeks.

Odd idea, but why not try something completely diff and do xanth blooms, more stylised to make it a bit comtemporary...was going to try it with lime green Anastasia, or even some of the larger bloom heads you can get, lots of colours to play with and I rekon not many would think about giving it a go?! Kind of 'retro-contemporary' ?!
