Eden Project

I mentioned the other week I was going to Cornwall with my College to see the Eden Project and the Heligan Gardens - well I've been.
Absolutely brilliant - we got to the Eden Project about 10.30am and left at 4.00pm and there was still more to see. Someone asked me to post some pics (Sorry forgot who) - over the 2 days we were there i took 170 pics of where we visisted so I'm only posting a few in the gallery. In my opinion really good day out at Eden or Heligan especially if your in to Horticulture - great place for the kids too (at 46 I'm still a kid??!!)

go - it was raining, hailing and just a really miserable day weather wise but me and my hubby and the college gang didn't care there was so much there to see - not so many flowers due to the lousy weather - but just so interesting how a garden can sustain itself - all the technology of 100 years ago that we are trying to implement now - fabulous, I had a heavy Parka coat and jeans on and i was soaked to me knickers but it was really worth it i wanna go again

I'm going too!

Thanks for the pics and info on this. I got roped in to saying I'd go with my partner and 10 kids from his school. He's a "safer schools officer" (that's a policeman who is based at a school) and volunteers himself to go on these trips organised for the less obedient/controllable kids. They needed another adult to go with them so I said I would. We are going on Monday afternoon for 2 days and I'm really looking forward to it now ........ especially after reading your post and seeing your pics

I will let you know what I think ....... thanks for the dress code tips ....... I'll be well prepared!

In the Tropical dome it was very warm the higher up you went but then when you get to the top of the dome the water fall is running so fast it has a really cool breeze coming off it absolutely fab, but then as you walk down you suddenly hit the warm air and wanna turn back - but you keep going and then as you leave the door opens and the cool air hits you and it's set you up for the rest of it.
the Core is aimed more to the kids - my hubby had a wail of a time - there is a construction that you close and drawer and another one opens automatically - you cna never close all the drawers, and a huge machine that has lots of cogs and wheels and a huge concrete ball that takes quite a few minutes and a lot of handle turning and all it does is --------- crack a Hazelnut - Bri (hubby) stood there for 10 mins watching it while all the little kids turned the handle next to it is a similar machine that moves a metal ball up and down.
anyway spoiling it for you.
there is a thing the kids can do they get a trail to follow and there are machines to stamp the questions they answer all around the place to get them to look for stuff - Bri sulked cos he didn't get to do it
