Question New girl looking for assignment advice

Hi Everyone

Just found this site and it's really great to read your Q & A's - so I thought I'd throw one into the mix!

I'm really new to Floristry and am doing my first assignment for C & G Level 1. As most of you probably know it's on the Floristry Tools and Equipment and I'm trying to included the History and Development of them and the different tools and equipment used by the European and Rest of World e.g. Asia, America, etc. There is a Japanese girl in our class who has a fantastic pair of scissor but they look move like pliers to me and she says that is her equivalent. Does anyone know where I might find this info?

Also I've been reading the thread about finding part-time florist jobs. I too can't get a job anywhere for any amount of time and I've even been volunteering. It seems that shops are too busy to have someone around that they need to give a bit of guidance to. It's hard because all you want is the enviroment experience in the first instance and I know I could become an asset eventually and for free - does get you down a bit.

Maybe anyone in the Sussex area knows of anything going they could let me know, until then I'll keep trawling.

Thanks v much

Jen
