Acer Palmutum

Well I am glad there is a gardening section now too

I have an Acer that last year all the hand shape leafs all curled up like fists and the bark had a slight white powder on it.

It still survived and after the leaves dropped it set down buds for this year which have since opened in nice open hands.

My question is does anybody know what might have caused this as I do not want the same thing to happen again this year.

not an expert...and not sure if I know what its called in english but it sounds like it had a fungus (?). Alot of my trees and shrubs had similar things last year at the end of summer-term used loosely!-because of the wet weather. I didn't do anything about it though, the trees and shrubs are all so big that I'd have to invest in a fungicide company to cover the costs!
But maybe Phal's Bryan has more info!

There's some kind of scale insect that infests them too, I thought that's what mine had last year, the big one hasn't recovered this year .

Acers

I know acers hate wind...hot or cold.....I keep all my in very sheltered positions. The wind can make the leaves curl.
