We have had a pond for about 5 years now and this is the first year we have had frogs - I was delighted cos I have a major slug problem - probably cos I love to grow hostas and delphiniums and thats like prime steak to a slug! If you are really scared of them then get someone to go out before you do and just rattle around a bit where you are going to be working - the frogs in my garden are very shy and hop off to hide whenever we come near!

it's not frogs you need to worry about they only wander about serenely..it's the big hairy spiders you should watch out for, they'll jump out of trees and run up your leg to get you
![]() Seriously though we have loads of frogs living next to the canal, but you don't see them that often unless you go looking for them like like cool, dark places. They are outnumbered by spiders about 200 to 1 ![]()

thanks guys
Thanks guys for your messages, my hubby does rattle the bushes first before I go gardening, but I always spot one lurking, they just give me the creeps, mind you there was a report in our local paper this week that a 4ft carpet snake came out of a womans toilet, in a house near our shop. I got a real fear of frogs but at least i can avoid them if I have to, but you got to use the loo, what if there are more down there, it dont bear thinking about!!!!!!!

getting rid of frogs
I think we are a bit spoilt in this country. For the most part we can go into our gardens safely.............. Except in summer when the croaking frogs and slithering snakes and sneaky spiders are outnumbered by the deadliest creature of all, smoke making, beer guzzling, barbequing husbands, who set fire to washing lines, burn the sausages and generally frighten the local wildlife including the neighbours.
If we lived in many other countries we would have poisonous creatures roaming our gardens on a regular basis………………then we would have something to complain about! And finally the only sure way of GETTING RID OF FROGS is to play them Paul McCartney’s Frog Corus…………………..They can hear it from miles away and immediately head for the hills. ![]()
