Blueberries

I decided on a whim to buy a blueberry bush whilst I was at the garden centre overspending on flipping bedding plants. The blueberry bush likes acid soil so have planted it in a container with ericaceous compost. But I bought too many bedding plants so have planted some trailing verbena and surfinia round the edge of it. Does anyone know if they'll be killed off by the acid soil or will they not mind?
Even my 7 year old pointed out that they liked different compost whilst I was planting them!

Oh no now I've got to go out and buy a water butt!
These will be the world's most expensive blueberries by the time I've finished with pot, compost, plant no 2 to pollinate with and water butt.

any plant

Anything planted in ericaceous soil should ONLY ever be watered with rain water......but you can keep tap water in a bucket/watering can for 4-5 days and this will suffice..........not as good, but ok!

AND...you've got to manage to pick them when they're ripe before the birds get them........I'd not go to bed and stand guard over them if I was you......hahaha
