slugs and snails
Ah....so you do like slugs and snails that are going to eat all your nice new plants........I positively encourage the frogs and toads.....nature's way of getting rid of the slimey critters that do so much damage....

PS Foxes
And whilst I'm on here.... Foxes aswell ! Complete pain. . they had a burrow in our garden that we have filled to stop them going in but they just keep commin back.
They have even tried to get in the house.... And before I get told off for not wantin them either ... and not embracing the good aspects of foxes..... rippin open my bin bags , shitting on my doorstep, and screaming like jack the ripper is killing someone right outside my bedroom window ...... I have a tortoise and a rabbit and I think I have the right to keep them safe in our own garden ! X

Hello,
Well i think as you said that you thinking of doing your garden up as it has been un touched... well i think as you start sorting it out you may start to reduce some of the critters as there will be less shady spots for them to hide. Prehaps you could start to encourage the birds etc as some of them will eat the snails. Even get your self a couple of hedgehogs as they love slugs and snails!! ![]() |

me too jen
Jen i soooooooooo feel the same, I put the same sot of thread on last week, I got a beautiful big garden (pics on my albums) but i am scared shit of doing the garden cause of the frogs. we too have not got a pond, but next door used to have one, they emptied the water and there were hundreds of the bloody things, but instead of taking them to a brook a million miles away, they just left them to roam the nearby gardens. All every one ever says is that they are good for the garden.... aint no good if I have a heart attack tho!!!

Hey Julie a lady after my own heart....shall we start an "I hate frogs" gang ?
Call me anti-nature or whatever you like but I hate em and I aint budgin! Dunno if its the big blinky eyes or the sudden pouncing at me but they are just groce ! I am sure they all hang out and wait for me to come out before they croak to each other "let the games commence! - GET HER !" x

best solution
perhaps the best solution for those not liking wildlife in the garden is to concrete over the lot and have a few pots.......or live in a flat and have a window box.......
