I do most of my things in tubs actually, as I haven't really got space for a proper veggie patch. You can grow veg anywhere so long as you pick the right fruit and veg to do it with - you want high yield varieties for small spaces - some things are better than others in this regard i.e. hanging basket tomatoes (or indeed strawberries) can be a complete winner.
Just pulled up my onions and potatoes the other day and they have done much better than I thought ! The good life here we come ! (I draw the line at chickens though !! they smell) ![]() ![]()

The only veggies that weren't eaten by the caterpillars was our leeks which are growing nicely. We have a couple of sprouts the size of a small button and not much else.
Think we will concentrate on runner beans and tomatoes next year.

we had loads of caterpillars this year we just wiped them off and squished em but we were told to spray the cabbages with a washing up liquid mix it puts em off ..just wash the cabbage well after....or cover them with an old net curtain or some fine garden net
