am I too late?
Am I too late to offer advice with this post?
No, don't bother to condition any flowers, they're gonna look crappy when they arrive so don't go to any trouble. Store them somewhere warm, preferably next to a hot radiator, wilting heads and crispy foliage is so 'this year'. Don't forget to tie them really tightly with cable ties, so the recipient can't get them undone unless she breaks either blooms and/or her nails, (and this also makes the recipient spend AGES looking for wire snips, strong scissors or pliers to cut aforementioned cable tie). Oh, and can someone tell me why I spent years training to be a florist when all I had to do was go to wholesalers, buy blooms, shove them in a box, post them and collect the money....how stupid was I ![]()

Mardy, i like you have obviously missed a complete niche in the market without any need for triaining. heres an idea, how about we just send brides a bunch of roses, unconditioned of course, and just tell them to do them themselves and charge say.... £60 + postage and package!!
or i might just go and get a couple of lengths of copper and call myself a plumber or a reel of electric wire - an electrician?? or a pair of scissors that are not rusty - a hairdresser! mind you i do colour my own hair so technically i am In fact i bought a lovely pair of earrings the other day - does that make me a jeweller?? i wonder ![]() gosh. i just dont know what to do now, defo selling the flower shop though as there are so many skilled trades i could pass my self off for.... anyone else any ideas, obviously i do not intentionally ridicule ![]() |

Everyone has a right to ask questions here whether or not they have a shop. Yves didn't say she just fancied selling flowers without any training, I suspsect since she used the words care and condtioning she might have had some training.
