sorry sosas i was just having a joke, her sarcasm at peoples repsonses when some were not that bad just got my back up. Irony has nothing to do with it. No personal offence meant but with respect wanting to send out flowers basically straight from the wholesalers does merit some questioning by us as a, she could be basically taking work away from me directly and b, she is asking us how to do it. At the end of the day we are all in business and while we share common practice i think some people are now just wanting information without having the arse to go and look for themselves and in business you have to have thicker skin. If you ask a question about a venture that you have then you cannot expect a softy softy approach with this kind of thing unless you are 6 years old especially as its potentially customer theft. With recession on the cards we need this type of thing less and less.

here here tulips......i totally agree, and the statement that sosa made in shopyves defence, anyone of the talked about public reading our forum could have easily picked those words up,...i def wouldnt like to be a forum member supporting this persons actions, i thought we all felt the same about box delivery, obviously not

I totally disagree with posting flowers, not just because its production line stuff in most cases which takes work away from us florists who devote time and care to detal and perfection, but also because you have no way of guaranteeing they arrive in perfect condition.

In no way is any of this direct nastiness to the OP, just about boxed/posted flowers in general.

can i just add that the op has not bothered to say hello to anyone or join in on any other threads (although i admit this thread may have put her off). i am reluctant to offer advice to those who do not say where they are from, do not offer any pm info and basically want to take without giving. Sosa i must stress this is not anything against you just something that has hit a nerve with me.

It's probably too late to post some actual advice but just in case someone with similar ideas comes looking....

There is no way to condition flowers so that they can go through the post and still look decent when they get to the other end.

Why this isn't obvious, and why a customer would knowingly send flowers this way instead of just calling the florist closest to where they want the flowers delivered, is beyond me.
