Purple Roses
Hi Everyone
My question is this...we have been contracted to provide the flowers for a wedding at the end of September. The bride has a vintage-type theme and is keen to have vintage-looking roses - Amnesia and Sweet Avalanche are two options; but the Amnesia is too brown, and Sweet Avalanche is too light - she wants a very purple large bud with creamy/green edges. Apparently she has seen this somewhere and thinks she was told it is called 'Silverstone'. I recommended Blue Moon, but this doesn't really have the vintage 'faded' appeal. So, any suggestions? Does anyone know a wholesaler in Sussex/London who could provide this? Many, many thanks for any help! |

We started off doing friends and family weddings a couple of years back sourcing flowers at NCG - getting work through word of mouth, only now are we actually starting an official business as we have started to get work outside of friends and family events.
In other words we don't run a shop, but offer floristry services. At the moment! |

ahh - sorry, in my impatience and excitement of actually finding somewhere i could ask a load of silly questions i completely forgot to introduce myself, sorry about that!
I work part time in Brighton - the boring day-job which brings in the mortgage money - and run the company in my spare time with my sister who does cakebaking in addition to helping out with the flowers (a nice partnership for the wedding industry we find!). Ok, this bride is a fussy one, but she knows this and has that annoying ability to make you want to do all you can to help her - so you will probably not be surprised to hear that i have shown her these two and yet they still are not what she wants - i will try and post a link to the type of thing she wants... |

One of my first jobs was working with a friends mum, who was a florist, in her shop in Hove - quite a while ago now. We were quite close and after i left (non-floristry related!) i would still go back and help her out for events. She retired about 4 years ago now but our friends and family have kept my weekends relatively busy since then! Last year i got my sister involved and here we are!
Right..i am now going to try and insert a picture Picture on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Hope it works Last edited by Artisan State; 29-07-2008 at 05:10 PM. |
