Atm Cash Point Safety Tip
Hi All
I was chatting with friends the other day and one had been talking to a police officer earlier in the week with regard to theft at the cash point. The subject was about her brother who is 12 years of age had been attacked by some boys in his school and they took him to the cash point demanding money. Obviously the boy gave them the money, fortunately there was only £20 in his account, but I’m sure to that poor boy it felt like £20k.
When my friend discussed this with police officer he said that if this happens to you enter your PIN number in backwards, so if your PIN number is 1234 then you enter 4321. Apparently you can still get the money out but the ATM machine notifies the police that you are in a difficult situation and asks for help ASAP giving details of the location etc.
I am unsure if this really works and god forbid we have to find out. Please let me know if you have heard of this or is it crap?????
Regards
Ian
