well we DID wait until we were about 11 yrs old!! At 10 us little ladies still thought of boys as icky and dumb...for some reason at 11 we started thinking of them as "well they're still icky and dumb, but some of them are cute and we wanna know what its like to kiss one of them!!"...oi...when I think about the first few times playing the game I think about wet dog-like-kisses and thinking this CANNOT be right!!

As far as games BEFORE the ripe age of 11, we used to play 'marbles'.

we used to do sone thing with tights carnt remember what though, just remeber getting in to troble for kicking the off my mum....lol like a cats cradle thingi i think...

I went to school just round the corner from the Pendelfin factory. You know the ones, cutesy little painted rabbits in dungarees etc?
Well they were made from a chalk mix. We used to go round to the factory, beg a couple off them and chalk our hopscotch squares out with them.
God if I had got them now they would be worth a ruddy fortune.

Also used to pinch one of my mothers stockings, pop a tennis ball in the toe and tie the other end round your ankle to skip over it.

Big groups of us playing ' the big ships sailing in the alley alley oh'

Going down the woodsand picking bluebells then went round door knocking and flog them a penny (Pre decimal) a bunch.

We used to do something like cats cradle with elastic bands...Used to knot them all together, two people would put them round there ankles and stretch the bands out, some1 in the middle wouldnt then twist and cross the bands using their feet.

Did similar, used said stocking with tennis ball with back against a wall, bouncing either side, under legs etc to rhymes.

Also - Elastics - never used the elastic bands, normally stole some from me mums sewing basket!
