Oh the first day, making a dustbin full of poly bows......., 2nd day, making poly bows, 3rd day, guess what......yep...you guessed....hate a poly bow now with a vengeance....but then I was allowed to make ribbon roses! Does anyone still make them? Where you fold round and round in a square, then poke the end through the middle, wire and tape......pink they were, felt so proud that I'd made something!!!!

We had a 3 tiered system of learning....big boss/owner at the top, then 2 qualified staff.....then a trainee, then the lowest of the lows...me. And OMG if the boss lady came through and found one flower head on the floor.....still pick through sweepings to see if anything is salvagable. Old habits die hard.

mine was foilaging pissing posy bowls for contractsAll i can hear in my head "TURN IT ROUND"

OMG the contract work........the wedding venue had a standing order, same every week.....plastic cherub holding a plastic bowl........one spray pink xanth, one spray white xanth............and lots of filler.........and the cherubs were so old and tatty they had been worn smooth so had no facial features.

hahahaha i remember them all as well, pissing posies, make the ribbon bow box up, 30 freesia corsages every friday and red, white and blue bows 50 of the bleeders hated making the bows individual colours and not quick bows propper made jobbies.....and while we are on bows will someone burn the factory that makes pull up ones lol

I hate fiddly stuff,,I can't stand faffing around with wires and bits of silly things,,if it takes me longer than 20 mins I don't wanna know basically!! I can remember when I was in my early days in this noble trade ,,if it wasn't right I got shoved out the way and it came to pieces and I had to start again,,god my old boss was a stickler too!! I find myself gettin more and more like her though,,,can't decide if thats a good thing or not yet!!

Im all fingers and thumbs when it comes to bows, just seem to get ribbon everywhere, anyone got any handy tips for making big bows, I really need helpppppppppppppppppppppppppppp then I can call myself a florist hehehehehehe

do roll up bows, like your winding wool with your hands and fold in half then cut the corners off, leaving about 1cm tie with a thinner pice and tie to item and pull open ps the more rolls the more loops r made
