With regards to the subject of the wreaths, it actually costs us less than 50p in materials to make the wreaths but I don't believe in ripping off the general public. It does not take a qualified florist to make a wreath, I could teach my 10 year old grandson to make them. Obviously if you have bought in the wreaths they will be more expensive for you to sell than if you have made them yourselves, it is not for me to dictate how one marks up their stock!.
Our wreaths are made using items gathered from our gardens, I find it rather ridiculous you could imagine I have a wholesalers amount of stock available to create 600+ wreaths. We raise a lot of money for various charities, there are plenty of customers for us all, those who wish to line the pockets of traders and those who wish to give to the less fortunate in the world.

I find that comment offensive.
I shall not make any further reply to you or your sanctimonious rants.

Oh dear, Mrs doubtfire I think you are only going to upset people with comments like that. Personally it goes over my head, although I would argue that it would take an actual florist to make a decent saleable wreath, in my opinion that is. I'm sure you or your family also work (or have worked in the past) to make a living and I'm sure you got paid fairly for doing so, as do we florists. If you want to accuse a profession of fleecing the general public I sugest you join a forum for solicitors!!

I take it ,Mrs Doubtfire ,that you grow all your own fruit & veg, raise your own meat, churn your own butter etc,so as not to line the pockets of traders hmmmm!

i wouldn't call myself sensitive as i own a flower shop and its not for the faint hearted!!!!! i just think you may be on the wrong forum as you are a flower arranger and this is for florists!!!! (clue is in the name)
as for you doing just as good as us with the making of wreaths we are still to wait for proof!!!!

Your comments are atually dissing us as florists and i find that extremley offensive as i have been in the trade for 16 years and funniley enough was a flower arranger before this i started out when i was 10 and i know there has always been a thing between us florists and flower arrangers i have never seen this since becoming a florist and i am very helpful with the flower arrangers that visit my shop i help with flowers toward my local church I help where i can i also give to all the schools in my town thats all 15 of them every summer xmas fair etc... i also teach flower arranging I think you may find that mosts florist do give to charity and i'd also like to say you never make that much money out of flowers so why do you think we are ripping people off i would like to see your proof that our littleshops are making thousands or then again maybe you have advice on where we are going wrong!!!! then i may get my holiday aborad for the first time in 11years!!! and maybe i could afford to buy our first home or even a 4by 4!!

you say your retired shall i put it down to that!!!! my nan is retired and in her 70's and shes becoming increasingly rude to people!!!!

No, No, No, enough is enough. You are not a genuine WI member who is selflessly giving her time for charity. Whoever you are, this is one massive wind-up Take no notice girls, I don’t believe for one moment this woman is for real. This is a site for people involved in the flower industry, so what would someone whose only claim to floristry is potting about in church every so often putting flowers in a vase, be doing on a here? We’ve been had…………………..
