Where would be thebest place for me to buy moss for christmas wreaths?

your wholesaler will probably do it, i think mine was 4-5 quid for a bag i made all my own wreaths saved me a fortune

Most wholesalers will do it. My missus managed average of 20 wreaths out of a bag. Costafiver

I'm thinking of making my own ,if i do them now will they dry out?

I buy my moss from b&q, its for hanging baskets but I can buy packets for around £1 each, I make wreaths to raise money for our WI ladies. I make lots up out of conifer and holly and the ladies and I have a fabulous afternoon decorating them with plastic and dried flowers, ribbons and berries, we sell them at our christmas fair for £2.50 each. We have been doing this for 3 years and we are now getting advance orders for them!. The florists in our town sell them for £10 each and they don't look any better than the ones we make up!.

Have they moved christmas forward this year?

Only that 'anyone can sell £10 notes for a fiver and have queues out the door all day long!
If the purpose of the exercise is to raise money for a good cause, are you doing the best you can to raise as much as you can.

hello fly2hi, I do believe a £10 mark up on something that cost £2 to make is what is known as daylight robbery! I enjoy making the wreaths, my friends and I have a hoot and we get to raise money for our instutute. I think in answer to your question are we doing the best we can to raise the most funds perhaps not, I think maybe we could make up even more this year and sell them in the local market.

You may find you will have to put your prices up to do a market stall. Even the cheap markets are £2 per foot, minimum 10 ft, so you would be selling 20 wreaths just to break even. (£20 at 50p profit)
