I had a wedding once, these things were having none of it. I remember having to leave them in the van with the engine running and the heaters belting out heat whilst i sorted out the rest of the venue stuff. Needless to say I now buy two weeks in advance!!

I can't tell you how much sleepless night I have had worrying if the wedding flowers will be what the bride wants or if the sympathy flowers will give solace. If it's been a particularly tragic bereavement I have sat crying whilst doing the flowers. I am probably just a wimp!

That is a very good point Chris, if you cut them just a little longer than you will need them to be the warm water will of course get to the heads quicker. That is why they need to be in deep water so it will force itself up the stems quicker. Putting them somewhere warm too us helpful. Which generally means out of the shop. A warm kitchen or if you still have one a warm airing cupboard. Still of course it a full bucket of warm water.
I would not advise a hair-dryer, unless of course you want to give them a new colour, or perm ![]()

Thanks for all the advice re the Lilies, they opened beautifully, in fact some are still opening now, so I had a really good choice to choose from, so thanks again for all your tips.
