flowerless lupins lol

for the first time i bought cut lupins from the dutchy yesterday, today they have decided they dont want to live in my shop and have started to drop their flowers so parts of the stems are bald! i realised when i bought them that they werent a long lasting cut flower but thought i might have got more than one day out of them lol. Does anyone else have lupins and did they last at all, dont know whether they are a bad batch or ive done something wrong in conditioning, they looked gorgeous yesterday

Only ever sold them in pots Apple. When they were in abundance you could pick up large pots for a couple of quid and they lasted ages (in the pots). Didn't see any reason to do them as a cut flower when there was so much else about at that time of year. Very popular though.

Lupins have hollow stems don't they? If so, might be worth filling them up and plugging them with cotton wool so the water gets right to the top of the flower.
