Gloriosa lillies

Just wondering what everyone else's experience of gloriosa lillies in oasis is ? I did bridesmaids bouquets this week in wet oasis holders with gloriosa lillies & anthuriums etc. I made the bouquet the night before the wedding and didn't put it in the cold room because of the anthuriums but when I got in in the morning, some of the gloriosa had wilted. I've made the same style of bouquet before and had no problems - just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal and is there anything I should do to avoid this or are gloriosa just not good in oasis ?

Hi dont know if this will help at all?

Name: Gloriosa Rothschildiana is more commonly known as the Gloriosa Lily or Glory Lily from the latin gloria meaning honour, fame. This splendid and exotic lily was named after Baron Z.W. Rothschild, an authority on birds, who brought the flower from Africa and entered it at an exhibition of the English Horticultural Society at the turn of the century.
Description: The flower bears six delicate reflexed petals with scalloped yellow edges each measuring approximately 3-4" (8-10cm) across.
Origin: Originally from tropical Africa, Gloriosa is the national flower of Zimbabwe. Since then it has mainly been grown in Holland. It was first cultivated in the UK in 1902.
Colour: Red through to cerise with yellow edges.
Availability: April to October
Family: Lilium
Care Tips: These flowers are extremely sensitive to being handled and are therefore often sold in inflatable bags to avoid damage. Wilting flowers can be revived by immersing in deep water for several hours.
Trivia:
Facts:
Gloriosa is in fact a vine and therefore can be bought as single stems (short variety) or as a whole top vine with several clusters of flowers (long variety).

The bit about wilting flowers might be useful one day.

no probs

I had no problems with it when I used it for a wedding....apart from it attaching itself to anything I layed it near when working with it. Thought it was going to be 'precious'.......seeing how each one came in it's own little 'bubble'........but found it a joy to work with, easy to use and held up really, really well.

Thanks for the replies. I'm wondering if I submerge them like the phil. orchids would that help. Mardy - was it the short gloriosa you used ? I've never had a problem with the long gloriosa either but this was the short stuff I was using. I hate it when things happen that you don't understand why - I loose confidence in using them and I love using the gloriosa so I don't want that to happen.

I'm just starting to get over my delphinium phobia after bad experiences about 3 summers ago.
